More than Great Food

Arrivederci! A Taste of Italy in the Heart of Awhatukee..
Tucked away amidst the bustling neighborhoods and desert landscape of Awhatukke lies a true culinary hidden gem, Arrivederci Trattatoria.
Since 2003 Arrivederci has been a cozy eatery, sought out by food enthusiasts seeking the authentic tastes of Italy.
Owned and operated by the passionate Max Sahin, Arrivederci is more than just a restaurant, it is an epicurean celebration of Italian culture, flavors, and traditions.
Max’s love for cooking was cultivated at Avanti in La Jolla, California beginning in 1986. It was at Avanti he learned the secrets of crafting perfect seafood, pasta, and savory sauces.
As patrons step into Arrivederci Trattoria, they are greeted by the welcoming aroma of simmering marinara sauce and freshly baked focaccia bread straight out of the brick oven imported from Italy.
Arriverderci is newly renovated with private dinning rooms, full bar, and music fills the air creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
The heart of Arrivederci Trattoria lay in its culinary offerings. Max’s menu is a reflection of his extensive background in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, featuring classic dishes like Ossobucco, Cioppino, and his famous hearty Lasagna in vodka sauce. Each dish is prepared with the finest ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible, to ensure an authentic and unforgettable dining experience.
However, what truly sets Arrivederci apart was its impressive selection of libations. Max offers an enticing array of specialty cocktails from the classic Italian aperitifs like the refreshing Aperol Spritz, to the inventive best selling concoction the Cucumber Lime Martini. The wine menu boasts a carefully curated wine selection, showcasing a diverse range from the sun-kissed vineyards of Napa Valley, to Tuscan valleys, and to the rolling hills of Piedmont. Whether guests prefer a crisp Pinot Grigio, a bold Barolo, or a Napa Cabernet, there is a wine to suit every palate.
For beer lovers, there’s a selection of local craft brews and imported Italian lagers to enjoy on tap or in the bottle.
Perhaps the most beloved aspect of Arrivederci is its lively Happy Hour, Monday through Friday from 5pm-6:30pm. Patrons gathered to indulge in discounted drinks and delectable appetizers. The restaurant buzzed with laughter and conversations as friends and families toasted to good times and great food.
As the sun set over Ahwatukee and a warm glow cast over the desert landscape, Arrivederci continued to welcome its guests with open arms. Max and his dedicated team worked tirelessly in the kitchen, infusing each dish with passion and tradition. As the patrons savored their final bites of chocomisu and sipped on their house-made Limoncello with their dining companions, they knew they had experienced something truly special in this little corner of Arizona. At Arrivederci, they had found more than just a restaurant, they had discovered a taste of Italy, a sense of community, and are treated like one of the family, a feeling that stayed with them long after they left it’s doors. Grazie Max, for bringing a little slice of Italy to Ahwatukee…Until next time Arrivederci!

A Little Taste of Tuscany

King of Tuscan wine: the Sangiovese grape

Sangiovese, the name, derives from Latin: Sanguis Jovis, “blood of Jupiter”. It is the most widely planted red variety in Italy, and the lifeblood of red wine production in the central regions

Tuscan wines including Chianti Classico (Annata, Riserva and Gran Selezione), so-called “Super-Tuscans” like Tignanello, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino are made purely from Sangiovese or in a blend where this grape variety dominates

Authentic Recipes Reimagined

Decades of immigrants from various regions of Italy, the proliferation of chain restaurants, and an American taste for quantity over quality has shaped the way Italian food is served in the United States

A new generation of stateside chefs are looking to return to the cuisine's origins, looking to modern day Italy for inspiration
